Enhancement of conductivity tensor modification within the ionospheric plasma by electron density modulation through the temperature dependence of the recombination rates of different ionspecies caused due to electron temperature modulation during high-power wave propagation is studied. Variation of Hall and Pedersen conductivities of the ionosphere has been investigated in the height range between 85 km to 250 km. The generation of waves at the modulation frequency and its harmonics in the ELF, VLF bands in the process is discussed. 相似文献

Influence of pH (5.5, 7.0 and 8.5) and alkalinity (40 to 200 mg/L as CaCO3) on the accumulation of Pb (NO3)2 CdCl2, H2O and K2Cr2O7 to Labeo rohita (Hamilton) was investigated in the laboratory. Highest accumulation of Pb and Cr in whole fish occurred at pH 5.5 and at alkalinity level of 40 to 46 mg/L as CaCO3 compared to 7.0 and 8.5. In case of Cd maximum accumulation occurred at pH 7.0 and at alkalinity of 100 mg/L as CaCO3 than that of pH 5.5 and 8.5 and alkalinity 42 and 156 mg/L as CaCO3. Maximum accumulation of lead and chromium occurred at total alkalinity level of 40 and 46 mg/L as CaCO3, respectively while maximum accumulation of cadmium occurred at an alkalinity level of 200 mg/L as CaCO3. A significant (p<0.05) linear relationship was demonstrated between increasing pH/ alkalinity and decreasing accumulation in Pb and Cr treatment at all exposure period while for Cd there was no significant linear relationship established. 相似文献

Wave equations in an anisotropic plasma imbedded in a moving dielectric medium have been derived through Maxwell-Minkowski relations. These are solved for longitudinal and transverse cases of propagation. The dispersion relation within the medium has been deduced through which the nature of splitting may be understood. 相似文献

Greenstone belts are well known for gold occurrences at different regions of the world. The Dhanjori basin in the eastern Singhbhum region shows major characteristics of a rifted greenstone belt. Initially, we conducted 14 audio-magnetotelluric (AMT) measurements for a profile of \(\sim \)20 km in the frequency range of 1 kHz to 10 Hz over this rather complex geologic environment covering Dhanjori Volcanics (DhV) and Kolhan Group (KG). Subsequently, gravity and magnetic surveys were also conducted over this AMT profile. The purpose of the survey was to identify and map conductive features and to relate them to metallogeny of the area along with the mapping of the basement of Dhanjori basin. The strike analysis showed \(\hbox {N30}^{\circ }\hbox {W}\) strike for DhV for all the frequencies and for sites over KG domain in the frequency range of 100–10 Hz, but for KG domain, the obtained strike in 1 kHz to 100 Hz is \(\hbox {N45}^{\circ }\hbox {E}\). As the combination of transverse electric (TE), transverse magnetic (TM) and tipper (Tzy) can recover the electrical signature in complex geological environment, we discuss the conductivity model obtained from TE+TM+Tzy only. The inversion was carried for the regional profile with 14 sites and for 7 sites over KG domain. Conductivity model shows two well resolved conductors, one each in KG and Quartz Pebble Conglomerate Dhanjori (QPCD) domains respectively showing common linked concordant features between these regional and KG profiles. The conductors are interpreted as sulfide mineralization linked with QPCD group of rocks which may host gold. These conductors are also horizontally disposed due to the intrusive younger Mayurbhanj Granite. These intrusives correlate well with the gravity modeling as well. The thickness of the Dhanjori basin at the central is about 3.0 km, similar to that from gravity modeling. The conductivity model also indicates the presence of shallow conductors, but could not be resolved due to lack of high frequency data. However, the results from the close-by drill site indicate the presence of shallow sulfide mineralization hosting gold. The deep level conductors delineated from AMT studies are associated with gravity high and low magnetic. ICP-AES results of Dhanjori samples show significant concentration of gold \(\sim \)5.0 g/t, which is of economic consideration. Thus, it can be inferred that the conductors have evidences of sulfide mineralization which host gold. 相似文献

Dalma volcanics (DVs) has intruded the older Singhbhum Group of Metapelites. Despite DVs being rich in mineralisation, its boundaries are not clearly demarcated. Gravity and magnetic surveys have been attempted for mapping the boundaries in DVs. These surveys were made in the northern fringe of the DVs over an area of \(\sim \)0.70 \(\hbox {km}^{2}\) along 13 parallel lines at 50 m spacing. The data was acquired at \(\sim \)25 \(\hbox {m}\) spacing. The surveys were taken for determination of lithological boundaries, depths and nature of causative source using Euler depth solutions and radially averaged power spectrum (RAPS). Residual anomaly maps of gravity and magnetic intensity show the same trend as that of Bouguer gravity anomaly and total magnetic intensity anomaly map indicating towards shallow sources. The magnetic map in general follows the same pattern as that of gravity anomaly maps. The map shows coincident high gravity and magnetic anomalies. These anomalies together with resistivity signatures confirm that the northern fringe of DVs hosts volcanogenic massive sulphide settings. The Euler depth solution delineated the lateral boundaries and nature of the source. It seems that the source is of spherical nature lying within a depth range of 25–40 m. The obtained lithological (vertical) units from RAPS are between Lower DVs, Upper DVs and Singhbhum Group Metapelites at depths of \(\sim \)15, \(~\sim \)25 and \(\sim \)40 \(\hbox {m}\), respectively. The metallogeny is associated with the Upper DVs and the corresponding delineated lithological (vertical) unit is indicative of the top of the ore body. Good agreement is observed with the geological succession from the drilling data and resistivity data. The findings suggest that the northern fringe of DVs could be a preferred target for drilling. 相似文献

The development of a theoretical model for estimating bottom boundary layer characteristics in the Hooghly estuary, located in the east coast of India, under combined effects of waves and currents is reported. Three numerical models, viz a depth averaged hydrodynamic model, SWAN wave model, and bottom boundary layer model, were integrated. In the bottom boundary layer parameters, maximum bottom stress, effective friction factor, and near-bed velocity both during ebb and flood phases of the tidal forcing are investigated and validated for the Haldia channel. The close match seen from results signifies applicability of this model for entire Hooghly basin. 相似文献

The paper investigates the applicability of current direct displacement based seismic design (DDBD) procedure, developed by
Priestley and his coworkers, for straight long span bridges under transverse seismic excitation synchronous to all supports.
This category of bridges often possess some additional features such as massive tall piers, highly irregular distribution
of mass and stiffness due to unequal superstructure spans and pier heights, large deformation capacity etc. that are absent
in short-to-moderate span bridges for which DDBD has extensively been verified. It is shown that DDBD in its current form
is unable to capture both displacement and base shear demand when compared with nonlinear dynamic analysis results. Accordingly,
a simple mechanics based extension of the current procedure that takes into account the effect of pier mass while computing
base shear demand as well as a modal combination rule for estimating displacement demand is proposed and validated using a
series of parametric studies. The new procedure also allows engineer to allocate strength at the potential plastic hinge location
in more general terms. 相似文献

Modelling suspended sediment concentration using artificial neural networks for Gangotri glacier 下载免费PDF全文
The dynamics of suspended sediment involves inherent non‐linearity and complexity because of existence of both spatial variability of the basin characteristics and temporal climatic patterns. This complexity, therefore, leads to inaccurate prediction by the conventional sediment rating curve (SRC) and other empirical methods. Over past few decades, artificial neural networks (ANNs) have emerged as one of the advanced modelling techniques capable of addressing inherent non‐linearity in the hydrological processes. In the present study, feed‐forward back propagation (FFBP) algorithm of ANNs is used to model stage–discharge–suspended sediment relationship for ablation season (May–September) for melt runoff released from Gangotri glacier, one of the largest glaciers in Himalaya. The simulations have been carried out on primary data of suspended sediment concentration (SSC) discharge and stage for ablation season of 11‐year period (1999–2009). Combinations of different input vectors (viz. stage, discharge and SSC) for present and previous days are considered for development of the ANN models and examining the effects of input vectors. Further, based on model performance indices for training and testing phase, a suitable modelling approach with appropriate model input structure is suggested. The conventional SRC method is also used for modelling discharge–sediment relationship and performance of developed models is evaluated by statistical indices, namely; root mean square error (RMSE), mean absolute error (MAE) and coefficient of determination (R2). Statistically, the performance of ANN‐based models is found to be superior as compared to SRC method in terms of the selected performance indices in simulating the daily SSC. The study reveals suitability of ANN approach for simulation and estimation of daily SSC in glacier melt runoff and, therefore, opens new avenues of research for application of hybrid soft computing models in glacier hydrology. Geomagnetic disturbances are the results of interplanetary causes such as high-speed streamers (HSSs), interplanetary coronal mass ejections (ICMEs), corotating interaction regions (CIRs), and magnetic clouds. During different forms of geomagnetic disturbances, we observed changes in the count rate at neutron monitors that are kept at various locations. We studied the count rates measured by neutron monitors at four stations at various latitudes during different categories of geomagnetic events and compared them. We analysed five events: a geomagnetically quiet event, a non-storm high-intensity long-duration continuous AE activity (HILDCAA) event, a storm-preceded HILDCAA event, a geomagnetic substorm event, and a geomagnetic moderate storm event. We based our analysis on geomagnetic indices, solar wind parameters, and interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) parameters. We found that the strength of the modulation was least during the quiet event and highest during the storm-preceded HILDCAA. By analysing the cause of these geomagnetic disturbances, we related each decrease in the neutron monitor data with the corresponding solar cause. For the ICME-driven storm, we observed a decrease in neutron monitor data ranging from 6% to 12% in all stations. On the other hand, we observed a decrease ranging from 2% to 5% for the HSS-driven storm. For the non-storm HILDCAA, we observed a decrease in neutron monitor data of about 1% to 1.5%. For the quiet event, the neutron monitor data fluctuated such that there was no overall decrease in all stations. 相似文献
